Blackberry and Strawberry Jam
Blackberries and Strawberries were at a nice price this past weekend so we picked up some fruit and some sugar and did three batches of jam. Trying to learn how to make the jam without pectin. First batch was cooked to long, but still has a great flavor. Have not tried the other batches yet. It will take some time to master this skill. But I think it will happen. The good thing about preparing all these desserts at home is you realize how much sugar and other things are in them, it will certainly make me eat them in greater moderation knowing that!
Put the blackberry jam on whole grain bread with some goat cheese...yummy
Looking at the Book of Ephesians chapter 1-3
The thing that really stood out to me is the words that Paul uses in the text, like lavished, immeasurable and vast. The grace He has lavished on us, the immeasurable greatness of His power and vast strength. Also that God the Father who has blessed us with EVERY spiritual blessing in the heavens. We serve a God of abundance. He does not just give us what is needed or required, but lavishes us with His grace...blesses us with every spiritual blessing, not just one or two...he is a generous God!
Last week I was blown away in the book of Genesis by His kindness and mercy, and now i am equally blown away at His generosity and how much HE does bless us! He has already blessed us with every spiritual blessing.
Also, I was listening to Gary Wilkerson and he had a powerful reminder that we have not only be set free from the bondage of sin, but we are in fact getting ready to take on an inheritance as we are adopted by the Father. Paul says sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, HE is the down payment of our inheritance. WOW
We are His beloved and He is waiting for His bride...which will be presented to Him without spot or blemish because of the finished work of the Cross of Christ! Now that is something to look forward too!!!
